Jaipur‘s Sawai Man Singh Hospital Tests Robot to Serve COVID-19 Patients

The Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Government Hospital in Jaipur is conducts the trials on a humanoid robot to provide services to the COVID-19 patients. The aim of bringing the robot in action is to keep the doctors and nursing staff at a safe distance who are serving the corona virus patients. The robot will serve the patient at the isolated wards. Once the robot comes in service, it can deliver food and other small things as required by patients, thereby reducing the rounds of medical staff they need to make in isolation wards.


Odisha Announced to Set Up the Largest COVID-19 Hospital in the Country

Amid the corona virus outbreak in India, Odisha state government announced to set up the largest COVID-19 hospital in the Country. The hospital will have 1000 beds and will be functional in a fortnight in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) and the Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) will provide the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) funding for the project.


Yes Bank Reconstituted Its Board with Appointment of 8 Members

Yes Bank Board was reconstituted with the appointment of eight members. The board was reconstituted after the Ministry of Finance, Government of India notified “Yes Bank Limited Reconstruction Scheme, 2020”. The eight members in the board are-

  1. Prashant Kumar- Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
  2. Sunil Mehta- Non-Executive Chairman
  3. Mahesh Krishnamurti- Non-Executive Director
  4. Atul Bheda- Non-Executive Director
  5. R Gandhi- Additional Director appointed by Reserve Bank of India
  6. Ananth Narayan Gopalakrishnan- Additional Director appointed by Reserve Bank of India
  7. Partha Pratim Sengupta- Director nominated by State Bank of India
  8. Swaminathan Janakiraman- Director nominated by State Bank of India.


CRISIL Cuts India’s GDP Growth Prediction for FY 2021 to 3.5%

CRISIL has cut India’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth forecast for fiscal year 2021 to 3.5 per cent from 5.2 per cent which was forecasted earlier. The cut is due to the corona virus pandemic. The pandemic in India and the consequent lockdown for 21 days pose a material risk to our India economic outlook. The slump in growth will be concentrated in the first half of the next fiscal, while the second half should see a gentle recovery.


Operation Namaste Launched by Chief of Army General Manoj Mukund Naravane to Fight COVID-19

Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane has launched “Operation Namaste” to extend assistance to the government in containing the spread of Coronavirus and insulate the force from the pandemic. He also asked all Army personnel to take prescribed precautions against the virus. He also assured the soldiers who are performing their duties along with the China and Pakistan Borders that special care is being taken of their families in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.


United States Launched Advanced Satellite AEHF-6 for Communication

United States (US) Space Force launched its 1st  national security mission by sending an ultra-secure military communication satellite into orbit called Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF)-6 from Cape Canaveral, Florida on the Atlas V551 rocket. It is built at the cost of USD 1.1 billion & is the most powerful configuration with five solid rocket boosters, a 16.5-foot-wide (5 meters) payload fairing and a single-engine Centaur upper stage.
