SBI PO: State bank being the biggest financial company in India having 15000 branches, and for this reason they recruit staff pretty often and in a large scale.Most of the SBI position in PO, clerk and specialist, and for this they conduct online exams every year.

SBI PO exam held in three phase Preliminary exam, Main exam and Group discussion. The following are the details- 

Eligibility Criteria :

Age:

The candidates must be aged between 21 years to 30 years of age as on 1 April 2019. In other words, only those candidates taking birth between 02 April 1989 to 01 April 1998 would be eligible for Application. However, there is also a provision of age relaxation as per the constitutional Affirmation policy which has been explained below.

The upper age of the candidates has been relaxed depending upon the category from which they come from. The year relaxed as per the SBI PO 2016 Eligibility criteria is as followed:

• OBC Candidates – 03 years.
• SC/ST Candidates, Ex-servicemen - 05 years.
• Persons With Disabilities (PWD):

  1.PWD (SC/ST)-15 Years

  2.PWD (OBC)- 13 Years

  3. PWD (Gen)- 10 Years

Educational Qualification:

According to the SBI PO Eligibility Criteria, the candidate must follow the following educational criteria:

• The candidates must be a graduate in any discipline from a state or central recognized university or possess any other equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
• Aspirants who are appearing in the Final year/Semester of their Graduation will also be eligible to apply but solely on the provisional basis.
• It is compulsory for such candidates to produce proof of having passed their graduation final examination as per the deadline to be stipulated by the bank.
• Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31 August 2019.
• Candidates possessing the qualification of Chartered Accountant may also apply.

Preliminary Exam Pattern:

There is also provision for negative. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Main Exam Pattern:

The main examination of SBI PO is divided into two stages:

• Objective Test
• Descriptive Test

Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. 

Descriptive Section Pattern:

• The Descriptive Test will be of 30 minutes duration comprising of 50 marks.
• The test will be of English Language (Letter Writing and Essay).
• The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
• Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in Objective Test.
• This test will judge the writing skills of the candidates.

Group Discussion and Personal Interview

The candidates who clear the cutoff score for the Main Examination would then be called for a group discussion and personal Interview test where the candidates will have to face an Interview board. The Group Discussion will carry 20 marks and Interview will carry 30 marks.
